The Trustees of the Leap Day Foundation, which was established in the Republic of Cyprus in 2012, consists of five professional individuals namely Frixos Savvides, Chris Georghiades, Mehran Eftekhar, Christos Christodoulou and Mufid Sukkar. These five Trustees resolved to stage a variety of activities encouraging people to offer some of their effort, time or influence to raise money for charitable funds, without necessarily focusing on any specific cause but mainly concentrating on helping Cypriot families in need.
Frixos Savvides
Frixos Savvides is a Fellow Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) with more than 35 years of experience in a public auditing firm as well as the public sector, including 4 years as Minister of Health in the Cypriot government. He serves as a Chairman on a number of publicly quoted companies listed on the stock exchange in London and in New York.
Chris Georghiades
Chris Georghiades has extensive experience of corporate and commercial matters, particularly in relation to company and business acquisitions and sales of both public and private companies, joint ventures, shareholder disputes, corporate reorganisations, insolvency, banking and taxation. He also advises on construction law, sports law, aviation law and administrative law.
Christos Christodoulou
Christos Christodoulou holds an HND, BSc and an MSc in Mechanical Engineering (Computer Controls). He has an extensive experience in corporate Management and Sales. He served the insurance industry for more than 20 years; both in General Business and Life Operations from the positions of Sales Manager, General Manager and Executive Director of both Life and Non-Life Insurance Companies in Cyprus and Greece.
Mehran Eftekhar
Mehran Eftekhar is a Fellow Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW). His near 40 year experience is in the professional and private sector of finance and corporate matters. He serves as a non-executive director for a number of Group companies, and is also Head of Group Corporate Services at parent company level, as well as being Board Member of the World Trade Centers Association.
Mufid Sukkar
Mufid Sukkar has over 30 years professional experience in Information Technology and business strategic planning. He held senior positions with multi national organisations and ran $multi million programmes of change. Worked in the UK, USA, Europe & the MENA Region with a wide network of business contacts in business consultancy, financial services, manufacturing retail, logistics and executive recruitment.
